This tactic is not new and we all know about it. The problem is that we realise what is happening and we just let it go. Some people have come to realise that when the news channels start screaming about something too much, it means there is a possibility that some scam is going down and the news is just dust on our eyes. However, the best we do is talk about it ourselves and that's it. I think we should take one step forward. I don't know what your step is but take it a notch higher start more buzz around the smaller news that effect economy and our rights as citizens. If nothing, make the establishment a little more cautious that we are informed citizens and not just fools they want us to be.
I don't trust the establishment. Not because they are bad guys, but because they are the establishment. They are accountable. We have elected them to do certain jobs for us so that we don't have to. Not because we want to relax, but we need someone full time to get those things done.
At our homes we trust the people we employ. The house cleaner, the cook etc enjoy our gratitude and watchman. However, when we pay them we hold them accountable for things broken, stolen and spoilt. We certainly do not allow them to slap us, back-chat at us and have fun at our expense. They too avoid corruption because if they are caught the most certainly will be asked to leave. So, why does the guys at the establishment enjoy perks most common people only dream of, yet are not held accountable. They get elected every time even when they tell the electorate things like 'do you want me to pee if there is no rain'. Imagine that!
