FINDING A WORTHY OPPONENT
When do you call it level playing field? When the opportunities are the same, the rules that apply to all players are consistent and fair, and all players of the team are given an equal opportunity to prove themselves. The game then not only becomes interesting but will also involve other people - the audience. The importance of the involvement of stakeholders who are not playing cannot be emphasized enough. This happens only if the opponents are worthy.
The one-sided game
If the game is one sided, then only die hard fanatics of one team will cheer for everything, every step, every move. Everyone knows the outcome and will not be surprised by it, but these fans will praise the prowess of their team. However, people who seriously love the sport or the other teams' fans will either abandon the game or watch disgustedly to abandon it later for better interests. The loss unfortunately, is for the game. The winning teams' fans will learn only later. The sponsors stop their support one by one since the game loses its audience. The team becomes haughty. Our Political Arena
When people's lives, lifestyles, and livelihoods are at stake, it is necessary to have strong opponents. Worthy ones. If the current teams cannot provide one, then they are as guilty of killing the game as the team that goes on winning. They have let down the game and supporters have suffered because the winning team has been left to do as it likes.FINDING A WORTHY OPPONENT

How to Make News Old and Boring
The Preview Establishment now says that they ordered surgical strikes too, but did not resort to chest thumping. Very nice. But why not? Why didn't you? By the looks of it, you should have. People seem to like it. These are the days of media. Being on the news for the right reasons. Something my Mumbai punters would call 'show shining'.
Any Establishment takes advantage of the media in many ways. One is to highlight achievements.
Highlighting Achievements
The bigger the news item, the more significant the news that is buried inside. This may have happened before, but we are noticing it now. Or maybe it is just wishful thinking.
The Art of creating News
At times like these, you read between the lines. What happened when this news was airing?
What could be so terrifying that someone could go to such an extent to veil this news?

Smiling in the Mumbai local
I saw him again some days later. As usual the train was packed this time he was chatting to a couple who obviously had just meet him. He told others to take care as his'sister' was in the compartment. The couple were obviously quite impressed with him though the guy was a little hesitant. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that the guy was only a vendor or the girl might just run away with such a sweet talking man. Sorry couldn't resist that jibe.
Anyway the vendor saw me and surprise surprise he recognised me. Or maybe he didn't but he told me one important thing. People never go behind in the compartment they always want to go forward. Well not in those words but that's what he meant. Whichever direction the train is moving the end of the compartment is usually emptier. Not true of course the case of certain trains during peak hours but I did find this true during normal time. If I went back to the compartment there was usually place to sit out at least stand easily.
So advise from anyone is advise. The other thing that i took away from this is the man would talk to anyone a trait that helped him win friends and influence people.

Finding a Leader
Haven't you heard that politics is a dirty thing. Ask anybody who considers himself honest and a person of integrity. It is also the statement of cowards who don't want to stand up for what they believe in. They will tell you politics is bad and yet they do not contribute to the well being of the country in any way. It is our way of hiding behind other people who would like to lead. Ambitious people. People not necessarily honest people we don't like. That's how we end up electing the least worst of the worst
Standing up for what we believe in.
If we don't stand for what we believe in know that someone else will. No, not stand up for what we believe in he will stand for he believes in.
Honesty integrity
he ideology of honesty does have its appeal. Men used to die for honor. That may have been a long time ago. Even when i was a child I heard things like a poor man has nothing but honesty and integrity. Two faced liars and back stabbers were looked down upon. Today they rule us and the men of learning and integrity serve them well. Re assuring themselves that they are doing the next best thing.

The Fear in Our Lives
The Message in the Chaos, the Message of Chaos
If I am not wrong then the man's original question was what was the saint revered as he maybe by a community doing in the vidhan sabha. Are we setting a precedent to invite religious speakers to our institutions of elected office. If yes then why stop at Jain why not Sikhism and Buddhism. I named these only because i believe they are pertaining to that state else every religion has something good to say. Or simply keep them away from places like these since it gives the idea a certain religion is being given more importance over others in a place where it is preferred to keep personal opinion limited to the good of people at large. And Jainism which claims to be peaceful but forcibly shuts down shutters of non vegetarian joints during their festivals.
The point is that it has become a habit to create enough chaos to lose the actual point in the din and many times it is deliberate. We are going from a democracy to a situation where only the strong can do what they like.
The public is the strongest, the real mahabali so they are best kept ignorant illiterate and fearful of each other so that they never unite.

Why women take all our insults?
Why is it we expect the woman to wash our clothes, make our food, take care of our children and warm our beds inspite of all we do. What do we do? We like to believe we give them food and shelter. Some may even say that we are better husbands than the drunkards who hit their wives, but the fact is we do insult them time and again when we do get the chance.
This is the normal middle class I am talking about. Educated or not we simply believe the wife is our property. That is because we have been taught so, by no other than our mothers who would not like the same treatment to be given to her daughter.

Why does Allah try to scare us?
Not getting into the specifics that no one around the immediate vicinity has sleepless nights - the prophet and his companions couldn't sleep - why isn't it simply mentioned that you should worship your good because he is your creator.
Rape is the woman's fault!!
Rape is the fourth most common crime against women in India. According to the National Crime Records Bureau 2013 annual report, 24,923 rape cases were reported across India in 2012. Out of these, 24,470 were committed by someone known to the victim (98% of the cases).

What women want
The female venerated goddess to some and an object of lust for some. They should be respected, shouldn't they? We somehow enjoy reducing them to just objects whatever our perspective is.
Dream of an equal society
The politics of hiding behind the news
This tactic is not new and we all know about it. The problem is that we realise what is happening and we just let it go. Some people have come to realise that when the news channels start screaming about something too much, it means there is a possibility that some scam is going down and the news is just dust on our eyes. However, the best we do is talk about it ourselves and that's it. I think we should take one step forward. I don't know what your step is but take it a notch higher start more buzz around the smaller news that effect economy and our rights as citizens. If nothing, make the establishment a little more cautious that we are informed citizens and not just fools they want us to be.
I don't trust the establishment. Not because they are bad guys, but because they are the establishment. They are accountable. We have elected them to do certain jobs for us so that we don't have to. Not because we want to relax, but we need someone full time to get those things done.
At our homes we trust the people we employ. The house cleaner, the cook etc enjoy our gratitude and watchman. However, when we pay them we hold them accountable for things broken, stolen and spoilt. We certainly do not allow them to slap us, back-chat at us and have fun at our expense. They too avoid corruption because if they are caught the most certainly will be asked to leave. So, why does the guys at the establishment enjoy perks most common people only dream of, yet are not held accountable. They get elected every time even when they tell the electorate things like 'do you want me to pee if there is no rain'. Imagine that!

This morning's headline:
As to the bad neighbor
It may be politics but what are the people doing? In the age of internet and quick news do people not want to acknowledge the truth or is it simply don't trust it. We in Mumbai don't trust anything. When somebody is dying in an accident we may watch him die maybe even video graph him but not help him. Police problem who wants to get into it. Nobody trusts the police they are the worst. Only if you know that it is necessary will someone go to the police. Rape victims, domestic violence they are particularly afraid. Maybe the police will turn the whole thing on its head. If the perpetrator had political touches then good help you if you have Apaches the police.
The message in the chaos
hat bad man vishal dadlani has apologised and he resigned from aap. He should have been shot. How dare he question the powers that be. What was his question by the way?
The point is that it has become a habit to create enough chaos to lose the actual point in the din and I think many times it is deliberate. Did the saint say d something pertinent to the assembly or was he there just to be honored.

Atta Girl! Keep Going!
Dipa, Sakshi and Sindhu. We even gave them a Khel Ratna. Okay fine. Now it's been a long day. Yawn, gotta have some rest. In a few days we will forget these names unless they keep winning, and stay in the news, which is unlikely. Back to business guys party is over.
That's how we do things.

CARS, CARS Everywhere and nowhere to go
Just the other day I was discussing with a colleague that there are more cars in Bombay than there are parking spaces. I remember the good old days when the sole concerns of most car buyers were size, just enough for the family to sit, and fuel efficiency. Brands did not matter. Somewhere along the way brands started to sense. This was simply because certain brands guaranteed quick and efficient after sales service, and spare parts availability and price. More recently car buying preferences have changed and there are more international brands on the roads. That was not surprising, since the number of millionaires is increasing. What is really worrisome though is that the concern for buying a small car has gone out the window and fuel efficiency has become the bread and butter for the environmentalist. So as I sit reading a survey report informing me that Indians are more open to buying cars online, I expect to see nightmares of bumper to bumper traffic that is not going anywhere and me having to walk to office.
